we can make enough GPUs a year to use ~3 gigawatts of power. the earth has ~20,000,000 gigawatts of solar available. even at 10,000x chip production (an inconceivable number) it'll take ~1000 years to use an earths worth of power. long before then we'll move everything offworld.

This is huge, but expected for Tesla to reach its long term AI ambitions.
Feels very similar to how Tesla had to go all in on batteries with Samsung for the Model 3 ramp, or going all in on building its own self-driving platform with FSD vs using Mobileye.
